Class Size: 12 A course designed to help you produce successful paintings in oils. You will learn about painting materials, tools, mediums, and how to use them; techniques in mixing colors, how to create interesting compositions, and useful painting techniques. You will also get acquainted with some of the world's most accomplished artists and their painting styles. Artists of all levels are welcome.

This is an INFORMAL OPEN CLAY STUDIO for anyone who wants to work independently on clay skills, finish-up pieces started in clay classes, practice, or work on the potters' wheel, clay sculpture, hand building, and glazing, maybe done during this time. This Studio is open to former clay students or students presently taking clay classes. It is designed to help you improve your skills. During this studio time, the instructor will be in the studio, however, she doesn’t teach a formal class. Class Size: 8

2nd Qtr 2020 Clay Hand Building Techniques (Session 1)

Clay Hand Building Techniques

Wednesday
A basic hand building clay class with assigned projects for all levels. Focus will be on forming objects, incorporating surface design techniques and creating functional pieces. Students will learn to use underglazes and glazes. We will have a one hour lunch break. This is not an open studio, students will need to purchase before coming to class a bag of clay "BMix Cone04 6" from Davens Ceramics Supply. Note: If the first day of a five week session is missed participant “will be removed from the class roster.”

2nd Qtr 2020 Beginning Silk Dye Painting (1:00pm)

Silk Dye
Day(s): 
Tuesday
A techniques class, students will paint silk "worksheets" with acid dyes learning about ten methods. All levels are welcome. We will learn to work with resist lines, trace designs, create texture with salt, and more. Instructor will steam set your work for permanency. Students will need to purchase their own silks after the first class.
